Following the sat-nav's instructions led to this laden artic getting stuck what seemed to be miles down unmade tracks. He could not go any further and could not reverse either. Many of the bends he had gone round had evidence of the trailer riding up hedge/embankment, meaning that it would not be possible to simply reverse back out again. Although the boxes were loaded, the weight was only around 8T. It was decided the best approach would be to lift the rear of the trailer with the Foden. The trailer would obviously have to follow the towtruck as it struggled round the bends, the driver of the artic only had to leave his vehicle in neutral and steer on the way out.
