Laden artic nearly goes for a swim - East Tilbury
This incident took place on narrow lanes in east tilbury today. The roads lead from the docks to several large companies , one being a metal recycling yard. It’s probably ideal for it’s purpose being near the docks/ Thames / motorways and also away from residential areas. The only drawback seems to ...

Laden vehicle down steep embankment
Another fully laden soft sided vehicle on its side but at the base of very steep embankment this time. The base of the slope was around 18 feet beneath road level. There is always the question of whether a fragile fridge box will retain its integrity after being overturned and subsequently lifted. T...

Laden artic overturns under A26 bridge
Here are a few more images of the incident on the A26 yesterday. Tall vehicles that have overturned under a bridge can often create a their own set of problems. There is insufficient headroom to get the ideal length of rigging and the boom has to work at an undesirable, almost flat elevation. It is ...

Food waste 7.5T in trouble - Folkestone
Sometimes the smaller ones can be more awkward than you would expect. This little thing only weighs 7.5 t, yet it fought until the end before eventually being dragged off to Folkestone. The bin was laden with sloppy food waste which naturally fell to the lower side. The road was once again too small...

360 digger stuck in mud - Billingshurst
The old foden was out in the mud again, this time over in West Sussex. The customer was dealing with the restoration of land involved in a series of now disused waste lagoons. They made the right decision to stop attempting to move the machine once the surface failed, continual attempts to track the...

Amphibious machine stuck in pond
Normally we are rescuing standard excavators from mud & water, but this job was an amphibious machine which was having trouble getting back on to dry ground. Tight access into the property meant it was the perfect job for the little International. http://i.imgur.com/7MVlRFp.jpg https://i.imgur.com/s...

Dustcart stuck in dyke - Romney Marsh
Another victim of the narrow Romney marsh lanes today. The lanes are barely wide enough for a car let alone an HGV. The drivers have to do these rounds regularly as there are no options available to them. This particular vehicle (26T) got fractionally over to the near side and it was only the shape ...

22T Machine on the beach - Weston-super-Mare
Little job from last week in Weston-super-Mare. On Tuesday, this 22T machine got itself stuck whilst trying to rescue one of the dumpers, which had also gotten stuck whilst moving sand back down the beach. After various rescue attempts using equipment on site, they saved the dumper but unfortunately...

Recovery the old fashioned way!
This agency driver had followed his sat-nav down this narrow bridlepath, and as a result ended up very stuck with severely damaged suspension. We were unable to get to the vehicle with a truck due to the poor access, so one of Mick's toys was loaded onto the International to save the day! Mick and C...

Low loader on M25
This low loader suffered damage to it's running gear, resulting in us lifting it onto our own low loader with the NRC and recovering it to the customer's yard. http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag57/mickgould1/low%20loader%20m25/IMG_0985_zpseollhwrw.jpg http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag57/mic...

Snow leads to trouble for laden artic
Mick and Richard were called out with both rotators to this incident on the A268 Peasmarsh. The trailer had a high centre of gravity (16ft) and high voltage power lines overhead made it awkward to utilise the cranes. The vehicle was recovered back onto the road and drove back to its depot. http://i1...

Burnt out artic on M25
One in the early hours just before Christmas. The cause of the fire is unknown, made a bit of a mess on the road and low loader! http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag57/mickgould1/M25%20melted%20trailer/P1010517%20Copy_zpsfzclicoz.jpg http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag57/mickgould1/M25%20melted...

Shifted load on trailer (M25)
This machine slipped forward whilst being transported on the back of the trailer. The load was lifted/winched back into position with the 1075, before being strapped down and re-secured. http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag57/mickgould1/m25%20fmg%20load%20shifted/P1010507%20Copy_zps8w5nakj6.jpg ht...
