Loaded mixer in trouble (Berwick, Sussex)

This was a very awkward job. The mixer drum was full, the wheels on the upper side of the mixer were not touching the ground and it was resting precariously against a hedgerow. All 3 axles were dug fairly heavily into the tarmac. The road was quite narrow. Ideally, the job would have been done with two vehicles (one to steady and one to provide winching effort), but this particular night we were very busy and didn't have a spare vehicle. There was also a question of the cement going off if it were left too long.

The rotator was set up slightly infront of the mixer. The boom stabilised with one winch, the other passing over the top, one behind and the further one coming forwards, before reversing its direction of pull from the front leg. This was kept as short as possible and loaded with as much down force as you could to avoid twisting. Two movements with a set up like this were required to extract the vehicle. Once it was out, the drum was rotated and the cement was able to be discharged.
