The Autocar was pressed into service again to rescue a electricity board Unimog which was stuck 300m from the road in a swampy field. It was round several bends, and so the winch vehicle had to get itself into a suitable position in pretty poor circumstances. The winch cables didn't reach the unimog, and extra field cables had to be used. Even when the unimog was winched right up to the Autocar, it was unable to move. The Autocar managed to start off on the slope and mud, taking the unimog with it. The Autocar is now 41 years old and still puts many younger vehicles to shame!
