DAF 18T stuck in field
This 'lovely' wet June we've been having has been causing a few problems! When we received this job, we were advised the vehicle was only about 3ft from hard standing. However, upon arrival it was found to be approx. 300ft into the field. As you can see from the photos, Carl's Pete had a few tractio...

Vintage fire engine movement
Yesterday we moved this old Commer Karrier fire engine down to Rye, where it will be undergoing restoration along with the Bedford in the final photo. Both vehicles were at the local fire station in Wadhurst back in the 1960s. http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag57/mickgould1/Vintage%20fire%20engi...

Another trailer hits Tunbridge Wells bridge.
This job was from last month. A bridge on the A26 Tunbridge Wells claimed another victim! We strapped up and recovered it the short distance back to our yard, before flatpacking it and making it safe to recover back to the customer the following day. http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag57/mickgoul...

Train carriage movement no.2 - Northiam
We carried out a similar job for this customer in the same location back in 2013. There are plans to convert the carriages into offices and living spaces. http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag57/mickgould1/Train%20movement/P1010218%20Copy_zpslydqzz69.jpg http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag57/mic...

Iveco don't make tractors! (M25 J6)
The driver of this Dutch Iveco claims he had a front tyre failure, lost control, hit the bridge barrier, went back into the carriageway then through the fence and some distance into the field...? It was loaded with textiles which certainly didn't exceed 12T and was a straight-forward job. The Rotato...

Cattle lorry leaning against trees.
This vehicle had to reverse down a narrow farm access road, which was barely wide enough for it. The vehicle dropped off one side and luckily the trees stopped it from over-turning into the river several feet below. To winch the vehicle forwards would have resulted in it loosing stability and probab...

Would you really take an artic down here?
Following the sat-nav's instructions led to this laden artic getting stuck what seemed to be miles down unmade tracks. He could not go any further and could not reverse either. Many of the bends he had gone round had evidence of the trailer riding up hedge/embankment, meaning that it would not be po...

Coach slipped off road at Charleston Farmhouse, Lewes
Whilst trying to pass another vehicle, the driver of this coach found himself in a deep ditch, grounding both axles. The coach was loaded with elderly people who could not get out through the main exit as it was against the hedge. The emergency door was very high and steps not easy to navigate. The ...

An odd place to take an 8-wheeler!
It seems the driver of this vehicle got his directions wrong. There are two ways into the property he was going to. Clearly, this isn't the one you should use with any vehicle. He went the best part of a mile down what is not much more than a bridlepath and tapers down to a disused mill stream. Fort...

100 y/o Steam Engine in ditch
We attended this job in Chiddingly with the NRC. The roof was lifted off before rigging set up and the vehicle recovered back onto the carriageway. It was an awkward job which required a lot of re-positioning due to the limited space available. http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag57/mickgould1/Ste...

Overturned laden artic
This incident took place in Dartford a couple of weeks ago. It seems the driver went a little too fast on the roundabout with a high load. The centrifugal force took over, ending with the vehicle overturned, busting the roof and tearing the side curtains. Some of the load did stay in at the front as...

Very challenging job!
We received a call to go Folkestone waste treatment works and deal with an incident where a laden skip weighing somewhere between 15-18T had fallen from an overhead crane after the lifting cables failed. It struck the raised loading platform on the way down and the rear of the skip carried on fallin...
